Tee Hooper - President: Tee has been the owner of GWD since 2006. From the early 80’s to the mid-90’s, he owned an office machine dealership that grew from $2 million in sales to $30 million in sales. His primary strengths are placing people in the right positions; taking advantage of their combined talents; and motivating them to create a positive, turned-on environment. Tee focuses a lot of his time and efforts on developing employees who understand and support the organizational purpose. Outside of work, he is significantly involved with numerous civic and charitable organizations.
Marty Harrison - Executive Vice President: Marty joined the GWD team with Tee Hooper in 2006. He is a licensed CPA with 29 years of operations experience in many aspects of business from marketing and logistics, to sales and administration, to finance and accounting. He spent 18 years in a growth oriented regional Office Products business as well as time in Health Care and Business Services businesses gaining experience in financial management, acquisitions, and organizational development; including tools and strategies to help optimize operational and financial performance. His volunteer activities, including church, school and community organizations are varied and usually focus around his five boys’ activities.
Sam Williams - Vice President, Pricing: Sam joined the GWD team in 1977 and has been with the pricing department during his entire tenure. He started as a commercial quotation specialist, and in the mid-80’s moved into his current position. His primary responsibilities include proposing and quoting systems for large commercial jobs, maintaining the residential price lists and overseeing the quote process. He served in the Navy during Vietnam and remained in the Navy Reserve until 1988 where he retired as Chief Petty Officer. In his spare time, Sam enjoys doing handyman projects for his family and other elderly friends.
David Walker - Vice President, Operations: David joined the GWD team in September 2006 as parts Operations Manager for the Greenville Branch. In 2007, he was promoted to Vice President of Operations. David started in the air conditioning business in 1985 as a draftsman designing electrical and plumbing schematics for HVAC projects with Air Enterprises Inc. In 1989, he began his career with Trane in the Miami, FL, office. His experience in counter sales, outside sales, parts management, and indoor air quality make David a valuable asset to the team. Outside of the office, David serves on the board of the Weatherstone HOA, is involved with Big Brothers, and continually seeks participation in various organizations that take an interest in the future growth of Greenville.
Jon White - General Manager: Jon joined the GWD team as General Manager in August 2009. Previously, Jon had worked for 15 years as Manager of the Trane DSO (Direct Sales Office) for western NC including the Charlotte, Greensboro, and Asheville markets. Jon is best known for his ability to grow sales volume and market share by developing relationships with customers, builders, and trade allies. Under his leadership, the DSO of western NC doubled its sales volume three times since 1995 and received the Pacesetter Award for Top Sales Performance five times and the Platinum Pacesetter Award twice. Everyone who has worked with Jon agrees that he is a team player who coaches his team toward excellence.
